For children, traditional Lao folktales provide an enjoyable entry into the world of reading. For adults, who perhaps have only basic reading skills, they provide a way to improve their own skills, to share time with their children, and perhaps to re-discover the stories of their childhood.
These seven fairy tales go back many generations. Once passed from parents and grandparents to children, they risk being forgotten, as television spreads. This book is the third of an ongoing series that will keep them alive for future generations.
retold by Big Brother Mouse staff, illustrated by Sonephasit Phanphila, Somboun Keomanyvong, Seng Xaysawan and Gikong
This book was sponsored in honor of the Italian teacher, Erninga Viscita Manzo, by her daughter Ersilia.
