Stories of Buddhism
Buddhism, like many religions, has a concept of heaven and hell. Not all Buddhists interpret these literally, but they are used to stress the consequences of making merit and commiting sin.
Soumontha spent 7 years in Luang Prabang as a novice monk, learning many traditional stories of good and bad. Here, he tells of a student, Sonephet, who visits a wat (Buddhist temple) and learns the same stories. The vivid illustrations come from the walls of Wat Phra Phome Phao in Luang Prabang.
