Worms Make You Sick

A leading cause of illness in Laos is intestinal parasites. They lay eggs, which pass out of the body in feces. People most often get infected in one of three ways: eating raw meat; walking barefoot in areas where there is open defecation; or when the eggs get onto food because people don't wash their hands thoroughly after using the toilet.

With big pictures and short, clear language, this booklet explains how people can protect themselves from parasites.
