Young students sponsor a book

Book sponsorships pay most, but not all, of the cost of creating and printing a book. That helps us keep prices low, for schools, for visitors, and the growing number of Lao people who have enough income to consider buying a low-priced book. We asked sponsors to tell us why they decided to do so.

On several occasions, school classes have raised funds to sponsor a book party or a book. This is certainly one of the youngest.

Photo of sponsor The children at Dunannie School were thrilled to sponsor 'The Slow Loris' in 2009 and are busy making plans to raise funds to sponsor another book in 2012.

Dunannie is an independent pre-preparatory school for children from 3 to 8 years of age and is one of the three Bedales schools in Steep, Hampshire in the United Kingdom. Reading is an important part of the lives of the children, helping them to become inquisitive thinkers with a love of learning.
