How Xieng Mieng Got His Name

Reading aloud is fun, particularly with a book about the famous Laos trickster and folk hero, Xieng Mieng. We've published an entire book of Xieng Mieng stories, which is among our most popular titles with children and adults alike.

For this large-format book, we selected two stories for special treatment, especially designed for reading aloud. Each 2-page spread has a big picture and a short text. At the end of each story, all of the text is reprinted, in smaller type. A teacher, parent, or other reader then opens the book in two places. The audience can see the full picture, while the reader, standing behind the book, can easily read the words.
