The civet cat likes figs; the buffalo likes grass. This book by Siphone, who has also retold many popular Lao folktales, joins our list of short, easy books for children just learning to read. Colorful pictures combine with short sentences, so that children can feel the pride of saying, "I read this book all by myself!"
